Assuming we listen to peer/pundit rating of players, which cricketer has the most inaccurate rating?
That Woakes didn't make Wisden's 5 Cricketers of the Century was a disgrace.Chris Woakes.
Gooch called him better than WarneAbdul Qadir
Babar is pretty good in ODIs though, probably Pakistan's second best ever.Babar Azam
Maybe because putting or mentioning him in the same sentence as others is a blasphemy. That Woakes didn't make Wisden's 5 Cricketers of the Century was a disgrace.
Ask Gooch how he defends the facts that Qadir averages 47.6 overseas with the bowl.Gooch called him better than Warne
Yeah but in tests he gets hyped up by a few guys like Cummins. And Imran said Babar can overtake Kohli(who he considers better than Tendulkar).Babar is pretty good in ODIs though, probably Pakistan's second best ever.
Yeah averages 36.9 overseas. A potential Best Batter since Bradman.Yeah but in tests he gets hyped up by a few guys like Cummins. And Imran said Babar can overtake Kohli(who he considers better than Tendulkar).
What about Sutcliffe?Chris Woakes.
Sutcliffe, like Richards in this case are underrated and overrated a bit. Not necessarily to the extent of other players though. Qadir is honestly probably my pick too. Compton is another I may mention. Barrington is in there too somewhere. What about Sutcliffe?
McGrath, Garner etc. underrated as well. Both were seen as a supportive bowler to Warne and Marshall respectively. Kinda of unfair to McGrath especially.Sutcliffe, like Richards in this case are underrated and overrated a bit. Not necessarily to the extent of other players though. Bradman could also be mentioned, as in his time, he was a bit underrated for the level of dominance he did have.
Comeon dude, calling Compton as overrated as Qadir is not fair. He is definitely overrated overall, but not so much. And for a 50+ averaging batsman who probably lost his peak years to war (has great FC record in those), I definitely think he is a top 10 English bat. And re Barrington, he did made Cricinfo's team ahead of Compton...... But yeah, my underrated peak might still be Barrington.Sutcliffe, like Richards in this case are underrated and overrated a bit. Yeah I wanted to mention Brett Lee. Extremely overrated in tests. Probably doesn't have any 10 wicket haul in 76 tests long career. Shoaib Akhtar averaged 5 less and has 2 10 wicket hauls.Would like to mention Brett Lee in the overrated side.
I never said he was as overrated as Qadir. I just said he’s worth a mention in this discussion. If you actually read my post, I agreed that Qadir is probably the best option.Comeon dude, calling Compton as overrated as Qadir is not fair. He is definitely overrated overall, but not so much. It doesn't seem fair. Everyone is not supposed to spin the ball as much as Warne. Was it Lloyd who said "He ain't an issue. Has not turned a single ball" on Anil Kumble.
