Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

Whatever it takes!!!
My cricket season is over and I can't cycle or hike either. Basically everything I like to do in the summer is out for the next three months.

On the plus side, I don't need an operation or a moon boot.

I've joined a gym for something to stay active otherwise I will end up deserving my username, for the first time in 20 years.

If I'd just got it seen to in September I'd be fixed by now.
I would still caution against pushing yourself too much man. If you can do simple stuff like walking and stretching and if you can watch your diet, I would rather you do that than doing something heavy in the gym and aggravating your ankle issue.

Antum Naqvi has become the first person to score a triple century in the Zimbabwean first class competition.

His parents are Pakistani, he was born in Belgium, raised in Australia and played in Zim for the last few years. I’ve heard different stories on whether he wants to qualify for Zim or not, though most recently he’s said he does.

There are several Pakistani guys playing over in Zim now, I’ve read there are some UK visa advantages if you’ve played first class cricket, so Zim system is an attractive option. But no doubt some of them would like to follow Sikandar Raza.

Life tip: don't say things like this when you're being recorded.
A friend of mine was asked to front a disciplinary committee last year after comments he made were picked up by a Frogbox microphone broadcasting a live game

He was an accredited coach having a private conversation outside the field of play

Basically told the state association to get ****ed as “freedom of speech”, “member of public who didn’t give his permission to be recorded”, etc

Things got pretty nasty from their side for a while

That’s appalling on the associations part.

Ranji player Nitish Reddy on how the IPL and international games are different to domestic cricket in India.

"In domestic cricket, we hear the sound of the ball hitting bat and [know whether] it is timed well or not. We will accordingly chase the ball in that direction. But in the IPL, I did not hear the sound. I just ran ahead, thought it was mistimed but eventually missed it. I couldn't hear the sound off the bat due to the crowd. There are a lot of things to learn."

If a pace bowler and a spinner played 81 Tests together, who'd take the most wickets?

Well surprising to me, Starc and Lyon have played 81 Tests together and both have taken 320 wickets in those games

Probably depends where they play them. But it was interesting to see in the milestones thread that Moeen wasn't exactly a million miles behind Anderson and Broad in the Tests they'd played together either (and he's certainly no Lyon), and you'd think the majority of those would've been in England.
