Ireland's Josh Little has ripped through Zimbabwe's top order in their latest odi.

Taken all 4 wickets to fall so far including 3 in one over to reduce them to 19/4.
He's a high quality bowler. Looked excellent in the 2022 T20 qualifiers. Wouldn't look out of place for the top teams

Presumably the other player with back-to-back 2000 seasons since 1962 was Jimmy Cook for Somerset… wouldn’t be surprised if he had 3 in a row.
Jimmy Cook had an interesting career. First-class record:

In South Africa: 13418 runs @ 43.42. 36 hundreds.
In England: 7604 runs @ 72.41. 28 hundreds
In Sri Lanka: 121 runs @ 30.25.

Total: 21143 runs @ 50.58. 64 hundreds.

Official Tests: 107 runs @ 17.83
Unofficial Tests: 1320 runs @ 42.58. 3 hundreds.

List A: 10639 runs @ 41.39. 24 hundreds.

His home ground was the Wanderers, with a hard, grassy pitch and plenty of lateral movement. Cook learned to play late while still scoring at a decent rate. This paid rich dividends during three seasons at Somerset. Taunton was one of the best places to bat. Cook's career average in England is second to Bradman's.

By the time South Africa was readmitted to Test cricket, he was 39 and near retirement.

Simon O'Donnell has decided to get into the trolling game by (sarcastically) proposing a series against India without a test in Sydney.

I think there is a grain of truth in there that the recent pitches (since the Cricket Australia ordered flat decks of the 00's and 00s) have tended to be either slow, or when they're more favourable for bowling, grassy. I think this means that India's fast bowlers, who are shorter but significantly more skilled at moving the ball, don't experience the disadvantage they might have with bouncy pitches with little sideways movement, which favour the taller Australian bowlers.

That said Australia's approach to bowling will need to be more intelligent than it was in the Ashes - don't give easy runs on the pads and be prepared to bore the batsmen by bowling well outside off (but don't do it constantly like the West Indies, and Pakistan at Perth) as India's batsmen know how to score big. As for Australia's batting, it's clearly on the decline. Smith can be tied down by anyone now and the whole edifice is flakey. Frankly I'd give India the greater chance of winning the series without a significant turnaround, especially as Melbourne in particular will practically have an India home crowd.

Interesting ICC rankings at the moment.

Tests: India on top - Australia second... who hold the trophy
ODIs: India on top - Australia second... who hold the trophy
T20s: India on top - England second... who hold the trophy.

In a nutshell - hahaha India you flogs.

Hey world cups happen only every few years. Bilaterals happen all the time. We are winning where it matters.

First West Indies select 7 uncapped player on a Test tour of Australia.....

...now South Africa select 7 uncapped players on a Test tour of NZ

I think Aus and NZ should just cancel both tours and extend their series to 5 matches. At least then full strength Test sides would be selected!
