The most weird thing is that they got through the whole thing with the wrong team balance. Their biggest loss was Ashton Agar who would have been extremely valuable this tournament instead they went in with their 3 quicks + Green/Stoinis and/or Marsh for the whole thing which shouldn't have worked in IndiaMaatteee...I think it's more impressive based on what I'm saying. The most impressive thing to me is cricketers who get it done in the pressure moments. Australia got that in spades throughout the tournament, they dove-tailed perfectly in terms of their performances. Maxwell stepped up in a huge moment. Head did it in both knockout games. Cummins bowled his best spell in the final. Marnus delivered. Across the tournament, everyone in the top 3 scored two hundreds around a few failures. The bowlers didn't necessarily have wonderful stats (Zampa aside) but all contributed when required. It was the epitome of how a team should win a tournament.
That enough Jeddi boy?
Also made a vital 50 in the first win against Sri LankaI was critical of Inglis earlier, but as pointed out the cameo v South Africa was very handy.
Hope you're ok mate. All the best.Well done again to Australia. A very serious organisation. The most successful cricketing nation.
I'm taking a break from here for personal reasons. Hope everyone stays well.
This Indian team doesn't need a turner to win. Look at the pace attack they can beat Australia in their own backyard
It will, revenge for 2003 Final.
Life comes at you fast...They sure thrashed aussis in the first league game. Who cares about the past, current Indian team and form is way better than aussis.
There is no question about skill. Even after defeat today India is a better skilled side.
I was in the process of drafting a "warnie>TJB" post with this. You have ruined my year.Great mind View attachment 38240
Time to move away from Rohit + Kohli in White ball . We need a fresh leader with fresh ideas .As I have pointed out many times here on CW, there is no future for LO teams without allrounders or at least batsmen who can bowl and bowlers who can bat.
Aus went with the most hb side (as some CWers call it) and they won. Quite simply, India were amazing but with the 11 we had since Hardik got injured, we were always a side without a plan B. It's harsh it had to bite us in the finals of all times but it was always a possibility. It's what separates a good to great side from a champion side. At least now, i hope the selectors invest in such players and see if they can better at the international level instead of running through specialists all the time.
For every one of these there's about a dozen that ended up being ****2 Cricketers whom Warne called great before anyone else
1. Jadeja
2. Head
Anyone else ?
like Wade? For every one of these there's about a dozen that ended up being ****
Tbf a match winning knock in the world cup semi final a few years ago against Pakistan is something that elevates him above the dross.like Wade?
*World T20Tbf a match winning knock in the world cup semi final a few years ago against Pakistan is something that elevates him above the dross.
They renamed it the T20 WC*World T20
let's not confuse the hit and giggles with proper ODI World Cups
You're right.Luck had nothing to do with it
India weren’t at their best & Head did what he’s capable of doing
Yeah I'm aware they renamed it but I don't have to like itThey renamed it the T20 WC
