I think this is one of the big reasons why a Men's World Cup has never made it to Australia. TV Companies in Europe (and I'm guessing the Big 5 represent a hefty chunk of overall revenue) are simply not going to pay the same amount for matches starting at 7am than they are 7pm.

Shouldn't have thought that would be too much of an issue tbh. Didn't seem to be for WC 2002 anyway, and the time difference between Japan and parts of Aus is only an hour. Though I guess times have changed, and TV deals are worth a lot more these days.

Well they've not been back to Asia since 2002, 2026 is N America, 2030 likely to be back in Europe. Perhaps it wasn't the success (and by that I mean money raised for FIFA delegates) they hoped it would be.....

If they're using the Women as a kind of trial, it's not suggesting a Men's version is heading back there any time soon.

sets an interesting precedent since Feyenoord are the one suffering more than Ajax unless Ajax are docked points along with Feyenoord getting free points and even then they could have scored more than 3 goals easily

First 3 games in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay then the rest of the tournament will be hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

Turkey have withdrawn from the bidding to host Euro 2028, meaning the UK and Ireland are set to be ratified unopposed next Tuesday by UEFA.

Nothing confirmed yet . Usual caveats with the ROI, young players, ages away 2028 etc, but a lot of stars will have to align for them to qualify so they along with NI will likely need automatic qualification sadly.

Hot on the heels is that the 2030 world cup will be held across six counties in 3 continents. That's mostly to play some matches in South America to commemorate the centenary of the WC. The main hosts will be Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

Rumour has it that the Asian Football Confederation will submit a joint bid across all their 47 members for 2034. The rest of the world will run a combined qualifying tournament for the remaining spot in the competition.

yes, think it’s been confirmed that they will. But then 5 of the 6 were pretty much guaranteed anyway (not Paraguay)
