If you can cherry puck then why can't he?I don't get this. If it's longevity then stick to that but don't selectively pick the good part of his career and ignore the other.

I stick to one argument at a time.If you can cherry puck then why can't he?
No he is not because there is plenty of margin for his career to go south. If he retires, his output is not enough to put him ahead of established stalwarts.Bumrah is clearly better as right of now than Srinath or Zaheer. Bumrah has had great performances in Aus, Eng, WI, SA and at home as well, already.
This is actually much closer than it has any right to beTeam records | Test matches | Cricinfo Statsguru | ESPNcricinfo.com

No Im saying Zaheer and Srinath were ever as good as Dev was or Bumrah is. Dev and Bumrah are nearly equal in my view.I don't get this. If it's longevity then stick to that but don't selectively pick the good part of his career and ignore the other.
Not just that, it's skewed because for a variety of reasons, bumrah has barely played home tests. If he'd played more at home where India beat everyone, their w/l ratio would probably surpass the Ws very handily.show the overseas tests

As of today he is. Zaheer and Srinath were never as good as he is.No he is not because there is plenty of margin for his career to go south. If he retires, his output is not enough to put him ahead of established stalwarts.
They don't have to be. Bumrahs sample size is too small to be in contention for an ATG XI.As of today he is. Zaheer and Srinath were never as good as he is.
I already didshow the overseas tests
Still Waqar and Wasim are better

You never actually addressed that Pakistan had a better away record.I also think India wins this and pretty handily. They are better at every batting position, at WK and spinners, and the actual track record of the pace bowlers isn't that different
Why? Kohli’s India had better bats, spinners and fielders. This is actually much closer than it has any right to be
Lol no way. He is similar to Ian Bishop.Bumrah is similar to Graeme Pollock and Headley. They were ATG but didn’t play that much.
What. Our batting has sucked balls for the majority of the period in question. Why? Kohli’s India had better bats, spinners and fielders.
Yeah, its called cricket.I don't get this.
My bad. So same as Pakistan then.What. Our batting has sucked balls for the majority of the period in question.
I'm curious to know what narcotics you are on? Peak Waqar ie b4 his back issues was the most devastating fast bowler of all time period. What's wrong with what I said?
They included Bumrah in the first XI and by right he shouldn't be ahead of Srinath or Zaheer.
So if we are taking his short career performance at face value, then Asif, Fazal and Shaheen would be formidable.
Asif was the best new ball bowler I have ever seen and many here can attest to that. Shaheen is also a very fine new ball bowler whereas Waqar at his peak was not.
Hence my statement was reasonable.
Waqar was never a good new ball bowler. That's one of the reasons why he wasn't as devastating overseas as he was at home.I'm curious to know what narcotics you are on? Peak Waqar ie b4 his back issues was the most devastating fast bowler of all time period.
They included Bumrah in their XI because that is THEIR choice and afaic it's not unreasonable given India's relative meager pace choices. You donot get to dictate who and who cannot be in anyone's XI especially since you didn't even start this thread....
