Will probably be looking to run a similar Test version of the
ODI Country/Average Combo draft recently ran by Teuton. Will probably set up a thread on Tuesday with plans to start Friday/Saturday.
To summarise you'd have to pick 1 player for each batting/bowling average category and you would have to have at least 10 nations represented. (Was going to say max 1 player per nation but perhaps a touch too restrictive.)
Regarding the batting/bowling averages this isn't completely definitive yet but they are likely to be the following categories
6 batting categories - 51+ Bat, 47-50,99 Bat, 43-46.99 Bat, 39-42.99 Bat, 35-38.99 Bat, 30-34.99 Bat
4 bowling categories - 0-22.99 Bowl, 23-26.99 Bowl, 27-30.99 Bowl, 31+ Bowl
1 'other' category
The 6 players picked on their batting average would have to bat in the top 7 and the 4 bowlers picked on their bowling average will have to bat at 7-11. As long as these criteria are met the 1 other pick can bat anywhere in the order.
The other pick can be anyone and have any average/s as long as they allow you to continue to adhere to nationality restrictions. A 5th bowler, 7th batter, specialist wicketkeeper, all-rounder. You will need to let me know who you are picking for the 'other' category especially at the point when such a pick would otherwise be ineligible.
Wicketkeepers selected have to have kept in at least half of their Test matches. Here is a
list of everyone that has kept - the list has their numbers of matches as keeper and matches as fielder. As long as their matches as keeper is the same or higher as their matches as fielder they are eligible to be selected as a keeper. Those not eligible to be selected as keepers can still be selected as specialist bats.
