Aus won't win a test for the remainder of the series. They'll need a draw somewhere to retain the ashes. I don't see them winning against the moving ball. The minute the ball moves, predictably all at sea even Smith and Labuschagne

If head fails to rescue them it's all over this test. 150-200 is sub par.
Admire the confidence but find it hard to believe

If only there was a keeper in the country who can actually catch the ball.......
England had a perfect opportunity to make a decent change here but were too stubborn to believe that they got it wrong in the first place.
Hard to find sympathy for a team when you have a mindset like that.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Trying to work out why Head has suddenly become so poor against short bowling and this is the best that I can come up with

He used to stay legside of the ball and play with an open face

Now, he gets further across and plays with a square bat face

As a consequence, his offside attacking shots off the front foot go down the ground rather than square with a lesser chance of nicking off

So far, so good

However, as he’s further across & more side on, he’s forced into opening himself up to get at short balls at the body and being square on is literally the worst position to be in

Also, when it’s outside leg, he’s now well inside the ball and playing outside his body & that’s why he’s nicking down leg
