This scoreline flatters Australia
I really hope the England players, management and supporters keep telling themselves this.

England has won both tosses; batted and bowled in far more favorable conditions; played against ten men for over three days in this test and are 2-0 down. But the scoreline flatters Australia.

What planet are you people on?

Cummins said that that whole plan came about from that little conference between him, Smith, Warner and Khawaja about 45 mins post lunch. Next over Green bowled that maiden and it was either hammered in at the ribs or wide yorkers, it was clearly a complete change of plan. It was smart cricket imo, which was a very welcome change after the mindlessness of the previous hour
Has anyone got a link to the Cummins interviews/ presser? I particularly want the "ok" comment. It's got to become a meme all its own

Did you bother to actually read the rest of the message or are you hard headed Aussie like your captain. I criticised my own country for playing the big moments so poorly.

Urgh why couldn't we keep bowlers fit capable of blowing away a tail. We comfortably win at Edgbaston with Wood fit or Archer better managed earlier in test career.

It also pisses me off that he made a point of apologising to Murali and Sanga years later when it was brought up but was quite happy to bury the Mpofu incident at the time, making no mention of it even though it was exactly the same thing.
Probably also worth pointing out that the Collingwood 09 one (I'd actually never seen or heard of that one) was after the Elliott run out at Lord's, the Murali one and the Mpofu one. So he can be as sanctimonious as he wants, but he personally was a slow learner.

Slightly different in Marnus' case. He's deliberately standing outside his crease to try and counter the swing from Jimmy. That's fair game imo.

That McCullum one though is EXACTLY the same. So good. Worth remembering that this was the era when New Zealand routinely won the spirit of cricket award every year.
The video didnt show Marnus standing out of his crease!

The difference between the Bairstow stumping and the attempted Marnus stumping is that Bairstow was dozy and Carey was sharpe verse Marnus was alert and Bairstow was inaccurate.

I really don't want to link to this rag buuutttt....

This article about English hypocrisy in this instance is a real pisser
The Broad edge thing is so dumb, and anyone who brings it up in this context is just immediately written off as a mouth-breather to me. The vast majority of batsmen don't ****ing walk. It was just a horrible umpiring decision.

Absolutely hilarious footage of Bairstow trying to stump Marnus standing back off Anderson though

In what world does it matter anyway? Its 2-0 no matter who's flattered or unflattered. England have missed their opportunities, Australia have not. I really enjoy this England side's approach but some of the stuff they're coming up with in regards to moral victories, playing all the cricket, spirit of the game etc is a bit lame considering last I checked its mostly about who wins the little urn thing. Maybe they've now decided that's not the main point, which would be good if they could inform us so we can judge them on different metrics

I breathe through my nose pal...I bring it up only in reference to Broad's outrage at all this. He wants to condemn Australia for not overruling the umpires, yet that's exactly what he became a villain for. I was completely ok with him not walking and I'm completely ok with Australia also upholding an umpiring decision.

Nah as you can see in this thread I'm absolutely fine with the Bairstow stumping but there's definitely a massive difference between that and not walking, which happens multiple times every game. You might as well condemn him for appealing when he doesn't think it's out - just a nonsense comparison.
