*Official* Yorkshire CCC racism crisis thread

Actually, Yah.

Let's get this straight pal so that no wrongful accusations are made here, by you or others.

To get this into context, Ballance gave the following reason for retirement, "I no longer have the desire to dedicate myself to the rigours of professional sport and this would do Zimbabwe Cricket and the game itself a disservice, should I carry on". He said this 5 months after agreeing a 2 year contract to play for Zimbabwe. It has been noted by commentators that the decision has come in the wake of the the Rafiq scandal, and seems to be widely accepted that there is a connection between the Rafiq scandal and Ballance's retirement.

So first, and most importantly, it's all of you who are talking out of your asses. Not me.

In terms of this discussion, the following is to be noted, for your information:

1. Good Areas Shane said that Ballance was "doing a Swann" *
2. I said that Swann retired due to physical issues not due to racism allegations.
3. I was accused by JediBrah of "nationalistic ravings"
4. I said Swann has never been accused of racism
5. JediBrah said Swann retired due to being smacked around.
6. I queried JB on the relationship between being smacked around and racism allegations.
7. I was criticised for making a strawman argument and not getting my facts straight, because Zimbabwe was not being smacked around.

Hope this helps :thumbup1:

* This comment was made immediately after a comment about averages, but did not quote that comment and I had not made a connection between the two comments and assumed Shane's comment was in response to the OP.

It doesn't help in the slightest, and it doesn't detract from that fact that it was you who had not got his facts straight, and you who was wrong.

I asked JB if he had a particular point of view which seemed apparent from his comments (even though it turns out this was not in fact his intention), and you wrongfully attributed that point of view to me.

I never expressed such a point of view and I expressed the opposite throughout the discussion.

The world record in the category of "doubling down like a doofus" has just been beaten by infamous forum poster Brook's side. He bet the record by managing to be unambiguously incorrect on four separate, consecutive points in the same discussion. Judges have congratulated him, noting it was an unprecedented feat, even in consideration that it was by a forum poster.
Actually, to set you straight as well.

This is a thread about the Yorkshire racism scandal, on which Ballance's retirement was raised, and on which I then pointed out that Ballance's retirement was linked to the Yorkshire racism scandal, not being smacked around, or his current batting average.

But please do list the 4 points I'm wrong on.

Swann has said that he retired because he felt he was no longer good enough. And ultimately that's due to his arm.

None of you can demonstrate that he's lieing.

I've been wrong on nothing.

So...Yorkshire CCC and some of its associated former employees are under a cloud of racism accusations. What is that about?

"Cricket is “elitist and exclusionary” – with “private school and ‘old boys’ networks’ and cliques permeate the game to the exclusion of many”. The report also cites stories of children from state schools being called “peasants” or having their working class accent mimicked."

We are all just peasants and oiks to them.

I hope every English cricket fan from an "ordinary" background, every female fan and every fan from an ethnic minority remembers this is what they think of people like us.

Don't even know why you follow the sport in England tbh. It's like rugby here. Just bin it - no one cares about Rah Rah here. Cricket should be like that there too. But it's a deficiency in English culture that for some reason your toffs are still treated like real people, whereas here they get torn down and ripped to shreds, as it should be.

I look at people on here who are obviously of working class background in the UK, yet they still back this pack of elitist grubs. Why? What's wrong with you all? You've been brainwashed. You should all rebel and start supporting Australia, the home of the fair go and the working class champion.

Well I don't think any forum regular would mistake me for an England fan.
