Cricinfo have Katene, who has never previously bowled, opening the bowling while Kristian hasn't bowled. Must be a mistake right?

I'd delete my earlier post out of embarrassment (honestly I knew very little about the two KD Clarkes except that Katene is a Counties boy), but I think I'll stick to blaming cricinfo
KDC Clarke: https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/kristian-clarke-1193549

But yes, in the current scorecard Cricinfo have the wrong Clarke opening the bowling. The NZC site has the correct one opening the bowling and looking at the wickets on NZC, it's definitely KDC bowling, not KD.

Rutherford has had a poor season. Was therefore thinking, 'gee, unlucky to runout when in middle of a bad trot ...".

But, c'mon, had he just been bowling 40 overs and was a bit stiff? nope. I'll charitably say he looked reluctant to stretch his hamstring(s), and wonder if he's carrying an injury.
His fielding seemed to be more than rather lacklustre in the Super Smash ftr
Is Lister injured at the moment or seen as just a white ball specialist now?
Illness I believe – he definitely makes this Auckland bowling attack.
Yet more peak NZ domestic cricket action with that runout of Cleaver
1 run and a wicket when they could've ran 3, lol

I hadn't watched Toole bowl much at all before yesterday. Goes for glory that boy, hucks it full. It's a bit half volleyish tbh and Shipley/Carter were hitting him back where he came from but I can see how he would be unplayable with a new swinging ball.

He got good bounce when he bowled length so I'd like to see more of that from him when the ball is old because he looked quite good when he had the ball rising on guys.

I wonder if being a Phillips he's automatically been labelled as a white ball specialist when his red ball record is far superior. He also seems to be another who's shunted all around the batting order. I think #5 is his best spot.

D Phillips keeping ahead of Chu the most wtf decision. Rutherford said at the toss it was to play an extra batter – but really dropping a bowler is a very easy decision. The 7th bowler bowled 4 overs, and Jake Gibson played as a specialist bat at 7, as it turned out. Match-losing decision. Finnie and Rutherford himself can bowl too!

Disappointing but interesting to see both Dhillips and Katene Clarke stink up their hitter role. 28 (38) and 19 (27) respectively.
do I win?

Gotta feel a bit for McComb - comes on, takes a wicket then bowls a maiden - gets removed from the attack.

ND then hitting out for the declaration, gets brought back on and taken to the cleaners.

Not a great look for anyone, really.

The Ben Wheeler effect. (Also Ronchi)

I'd forgotten Keeley Todd played for Auckland. His nephew Jamal got picked up by one of those UAE T20 league teams.
Keeley could flat out play, but never quite made it. Was one of a few from Waitakere with real talent- Dushan Hakaraia, Tane Topia, even Keeleys brother Corey (who I presume is Jamals dad) could wack it, and played for NZ indoor team. Ben Lister now, too.

That Plunket Shield game was nuts. Teenage Tim Southee six for, Reece Young and Greg Morgan (on debut) saving Aucklands skin, then the whole dusk Andre Adams blowup I mentioned. I reckon that was the year Andre averaged about 8 with the ball across the whole season.
