Yea, don't mind if nz grind to 300 lead at least then maybe look at being slightly more aggressive. I think the spinners would have a field day with the lower order at the moment
Yeah they're bowling well. Mitchell might bat but 6 out all out atm I think.

Credit to these two for preventing a collapse even if it's been pretty unconvincing at times.

Excellent tour for Blundell so far. Kept well and made important runs in what are probably not his preferred conditions.
Yeah, I remember Blundell seemed to really struggle to get going in India in late 2021. His preferred conditions are probably the bouncier Australian wickets with his strong back foot game.

They have volume on the tvs in the rooms don't they? I hope Southee isn't swayed by broadcasters to declare early on a highway. They want viewers not NZ victories.

Good effort from Bracewell to hang in there. Would have been easy to try and slog his way out when Abrar was making him look like a fool.

Overall his tour has gone better than I expected, decent showing with the ball as support spinner, managed to control things when not picking up wickets. Batting-wise, this knock makes up for not offering much at no.7 till now.

The thing is, the gap between a draw and a win is exactly the same as between a draw and a loss. I mean, for a negative person like me losing is always more bad than winning is good, but basic logic says they’re equal, two sides of a coin. Why then do commentators always talk as though going for the win is the obviously right thing to do? Winning test matches means nothing if losing them means nothing.

This is like saying Rabada is having a decent tour in Australia right now. He has batted like complete ****.

I don't think many ex players commentators have contemplated nihilism to the extent of a very CW CWer like yourself.

I wouldn't have Macewell in the test side, but this is a harsh take. Well, the timing anyway. That stand just rescued NZ from a position where Pakistan looked in the box seat.

Yes because it’s possible in cricket to play badly, be lucky and achieve success at times. Like, this innings has to be one of the most glorious examples of this possibility (irl I’m loving it btw)

Sarfaraz hasn't scored runs Rizwan can't send he's dropped chances Rizwan can take.

Shan Masood is in this team so you could play Sarfaraz for his batting if you wanted but the way they selected was dumb.
