Is Ashwin an ATG spinner / player?

honestbharani

Whatever it takes!!!
You're one to criticize my posting, for sure. Ah so, if no tests were played in a year that means we should subtract it from a player's total, good to know. How many home tests did Ashwin play in 2014? Guess he hasn't averaged 21 over 10 years at home.

That's right, we all understand that cricket and the players of earlier eras are unable to be compared to current players. Players like Hobbs, Sutcliffe and Hutton can't be (and haven't been) compared to modern openers like Gavaskar, Smith, Hayden and Sehwag. Same with Grimmett, O'Reilly, Verity, Laker and Murali/Warne. I could go on but I won't, its bedtime.

And btw, I don't give a **** about the whole India/Australia ****fight that goes on in this forum. In fact, it pisses me off to no end, derails decent threads, creates hundreds of posts with no substance. Dravid and Kohli have been two of my favourite players since I began watching cricket, as Bumrah is quickly becoming.
Dude I mentioned the context for my post. Which you obviously missed and came out swinging for no reason, given almost each post u first responded to were responses to dumb ass logic ones from saltshakerz. Read my other posts on this subject n chill.

Its where I read it first. Believe it was "The Blue Carbuncle".
Looks like I was wrong, apologies.

Though for future reference:

"I have no doubt that I am very stupid, but I must confess that I am unable to follow you. For example, how did you deduce that this man was intellectual?"

For answer Holmes clapped the hat upon his head. It came right over the forehead and settled upon the bridge of his nose. "It is a question of cubic capacity," said he; "a man with so large a brain must have something in it."

For anyone else wishing to work some Sherlock Holmes into their snarking.

You act as if Ashwin takes wickets @15 with a strikerate in the 30s in India. His figures are impressive but not earthshattering. Just to compare, Philander's figures at home (average of 19 with 43 strikerate) are actually better than Ashwin, and he is no ATG.

And I dont care about dominant home records as long as it is met with success overseas. India in the 90s were the only team unbeaten at home but it meant nothing. And dont ignore that India's home dominance is not just about Ashwin, but Jadeja too.
you cannot compare spin and fast bowling figures. Spin bowlers can bowl twice as much because their action wastes less energy. This is like second grade cricket knowledge.

Ashwin has been great away since 2015 not his fault Kohli (who is should be sacked as captain) is jealous of him and doesn’t play him

Kohli isn't jealous, he just loves pace as a quickie himself. Too much anti-Kohli energy here to say this as if it's true.
