I think both are not criminal or anything and they were good balls and following good setups but I just think you expect more out of an opener and a #3 at the international level. Like I said, its hard to shake off the feeling that they were a bit complacent and/or over-confident after the last win. Hopefully that bubble has been burst now and the rest can put their heads down and make a score.

My feeling is that 90% of the time when a side wins the toss and bats first, you expect a minimum of 300. Anything less than that is a win for the opposition. Similarly when you put in an opposition, I feel the mark is 200-250. Anything more, the other side is the winner from that decision.
Nah Rahul's shot is really quite bad IMO. It's just a shot you never ever play in that situation unless you are 1000% confident that you can play it technically flawlessly in this conditions - and especially at this ground.

Awful morning having won the toss.

we need to be positive look to score off the few bad balls we get and somehow get 200-250 if we can do that we will be in the game against a brittle England batting side

I know at 26/3 it's very easy to say.......but the decision to bat here is just incredibly dumb.

Cloudy sky's in Leeds aside, why the **** wouldn't India keep the foot on the throat and throw the under pressure English line-up straight back under the cosh? Our bowlers are good enough to feel they can make amends for that horror show at Lords........I bet the batsmen don't.

This feels a lot like than Manchester test in 2014 where India were 6-4 or something. Batsmen just aren't up to handling this kind of bowling.

For indias sake I hope this is just Anderson being hax. The others have looked fine but definitely way easier to negotiate.
