Ponting or Gillespie are two options a lot of people (including me) like but CA may not be able to put up enough money to tempt them to do it. Beyond that not really sure who the options are.
Ponting is paid something like 500,000 USD for coaching Delhi capitals ( 2.5 months job).
As far as I know Langer's pay is about A$1M. Ponting would be giving up about $700k for a lot less work in the IPL and I seem to remember it being mentioned once that his media gig with C7 is worth well into six figures as well. Although they should spend less on administrative bloat, even accounting for that I don't see CA stumping up that much.
As I said, they still don't want to do it. These guys have young families they want to spend time with. Much easier to spend a month as a T20 coach and a few weekends commentating during summer.

Yeah no denying that we've been great in ODI under langer, and we've been good in t20's when everyone's been available, ****ed up a previously #1 Pak side and were highly competitive against the 2 best sides in the world, don't think you can blame him for our lack of depth, he's utter horseshite as test coach though.
