where are you?????
where are you?????
he was averaging 35 as late his 43rd test with the bat.Indeed, but the point is he has never averaged much over 30, so hard to give him faith in any position. Stokes is averaging considerably higher, it is of course chicken or egg, but again he keeps getting picked, and through that International recognition has been in multiple franchises, probably a very rich man, which he probably couldn't envision as a Worcestershire Journeyman seven years back at 27, I doubt he's cursing the selectors too much. He has obviously performed to do that, but never consistently that incredibly.
Fair enough didn't know that.he was averaging 35 as late his 43rd test with the bat.
Got 4 tons in 2016 which I would guess is the best year any of Stokes, Bairstow and Moeen have had with the bat. He's a far cry from that now
fair enough yeah. possibly playing devil's advocate here a bitFair enough didn't know that.
He was excellent in India at 4, I suppose they could have kept him there. Look I'm not saying he hasn't been mucked about in the order, I just think most others have been too, in our struggles to try to make the flotsam and jetsam of the top order look better.
He has batted well so far today, unlike he has for the last few years where he has been loose as ****.
really tough call, but yea that would be it I think.Who do you drop? I don't think we can afford Shami's profligacy anymore. Two games running he's gone at 4 an over. Inexcusable for an experienced bowler.
Apparently he can't lolGreat TV umpiring there. No faffing about.
Now to see if Curran can bat with his team in the ascendancy.
Looked to me it hit the ground before he caught it. Small bounce even. But soft signal was out so perhaps not clear evidence to overturn.Great TV umpiring there. No faffing about.

TBF I'd have snatched your arm off for 340 before play started today, so think any more runs from here are a bonus. We're in danger of throwing this one away, aren't we.
Think these ones always have some portion of the ball touching the turf. Helps when fingers are clearly presented under the ball.Looked to me it hit the ground before he caught it. Small bounce even. But soft signal was out so perhaps not clear evidence to overturn.
ah ok. I only saw front replay.Think these ones always have some portion of the ball touching the turf. Helps when fingers are clearly presented under the ball.
That side-on replay makes it look very clean though. Daylight between fingers and ground.
Hasn't he been with 3 or 4 coaches now though? 2 captains too, i guess?You don't think?
He's been asked to bat at literally every spot from opener to 9 at one point or other. Doesn't scream of a coaching set up who know what a player's strengths are.
