that celebration needed confetti, a larger louder crowd but good enough during covid

also that commentary desperately needed ian smith during those winning runs, but i think the big man is happy asf, where ever he's watching from :)

Absolutely great result. And for all you NZ fans, you know what the best bit is... It is on ICC.tv so you can watch it over and over again.

I was occupied when whatever the **** happened to India in the second innings and can't wait to go watch it.

A bit sad for India, but at least they were beaten by a better team rather than bottling it themselves.

Everest conquered, plant the flag and hold the summit.

I never thought I would see it. I know we fans fiercely debate everything to do with this team and who is in it, who should do what etc but what binds us is posting in these tour threads at ungodly hours through thick and thin and cheering on the team because in the end, we just want our team to win and to be full of players we love.

I had to take a piss I've been holding in for two hours and I think a few tears also went into the bowl.

Sport really is the best.

Thank you to the Indian fans. You've been really great to yarn with in this thread tbh, the atmosphere in here for such a high pressure occassion has been amazing given some of the intense tour threads and subforums on CW over the years. It really sucks to lose close finals, we know, but nothing we opposition fans say can make it easier. Your team is cool, it has genuine ATGs in it and I hope they give you lots more to cheer over the next few years (except when you play us of course).

Just an all round great game, and one I'm glad I went nocturnal for.
Maybe some No. 3s in there too?

He's been on the NZ Sky TV panel doing build up prior to each day's play.

Outstanding bowling from both sides in this match. One of the best quality test matches I've seen. Well done India despite the loss ... awesome fans on here and at the ground, I'm sure a title isn't far away.

Whatever it takes!!!
It was really surprising (and nice) of Virat to say the WTC was important after losing while he kept saying it was just another test during the build up. I have often said this, but for a guy who is said to be so arrogant and self centered or whatever, he is genuinely gracious so many times in post match interviews and when talking about his opponents and competitors.

Say what you like about Kohli (and plenty do) but he's an absolutely staunch advocate of tests as the gold standard.

Doubt there's a bigger friend of the format currently.
Especially when he is more successful (relatively speaking I know) in white ball cricket
