Elgar went though about an 18 month period where he avg around 50... think he was top runs scorer in 2016/2017 or something like. But either side he has avged under 40. Never quite found true consistency.

A player who has worked hard for everything and not a natural talent. Always respected that about him.

Very frustrating; largely because I don't think Elgar, Markram or Hamza are poor players. Markram is in a bad head space. Elgar has just not kicked on and done the senior role he should be doing. Hamza is just starting out and not quite settled.

Yeah, well that requires a captain who knows what he's doing and has the authority to tell his bowlers if they don't already know. It's just another dire performance by England at the start of a tour, isn't it.
