I don't think any other country in the world produces the quicks that SA manage to consistently produce. For the number we have lost to injury, retirement and kolpak in the last 2/3 years and to still have a pace bowling attack that can rival any other teams says alot.

And I can name at least 3 good 18-21 year olds that are coming along nicely.

Australia has produced McGrath, Johnson and now Cummins in the last 2 decades.

Scattered around that being Gillespie, Lee, Hazlewood, Starc etc with a whole chunk of test quality quicks that barely get a look in like Bichel, Bird etc

Even now they would be capable of fielding 2 test sides of quality quicks with a battery of Cummins, Hazlewood, Starc, Pattinson, Neser, Richardson & Siddle.

Australia certainly produce as many if not more than SAF.

They also have Cameron Green likely to come into the side in the next 2 years who averages 20 with the ball at Shield level and looks every bit as good as Cummins and Hazlewood with the ball at the same age.

I really do wonder how long it takes before it finally becomes obvious to England what it's become obvious to everyone else that Root is a perfectly fine man and very good cricketer but not a leader.

The Green to Cummins comparison is apt but probably not in the way you think; it'll probably be quite a while before he's able to string an actual consistent period of bowling together without breaking down somehow.
