It was a horribly-paced chase. Needing 240 odd and we score at 3s for 20 overs, many of which were bowled by part-timers, and you're already needing 6 per over to win. It's suddenly like a 300 chase. See off Starc's opening spell by all means but need more #intent against the others, tricky pitch or not. We need more from Guptill and Taylor - back yourselves. Guptill is the most static and crease-bound I can remember. By the time the top 5 were gone, all of whom apart from Williamson struck at just 50-odd, the chase was already off the rails with not much for Neesham and De Grandhomme to do apart from hit out.
I didn't see the chances (half chances?) Latham put down but we can't afford that, to go with the drops and misfields earlier in the innings. Very patchy in the field - some great, some terrible. Santner also bizarrely bowled a bad three over spell and didn't bowl again. Sodhi looked like he was tense and wasn't getting through his action - maybe he might've been better if this wasn't his first game of the tourny, but I have a nagging feeling he's not a big match player. Think Henry will play the rest.
Given Australia's bowling attack, and India's for that matter, we are going to need to bowl these sides out for 200, which leaves little option but to keep attacking.
