I actually see the merit in approaching the chase in that fashion but the absolute key is to rotate the strike. To be honest, no matter how bad the wicket, I think rotating the strike is a must, and they didnt do that.

Looks like NRR will take a beating now. Need to regroup and get things right against England, otherwise NZ are starting to look tired. Bowlers barring the spinners were very good but the fielding and batting has been sub par for two games straight.

I actually thought BAZ did a fantastic job in eliminating much of that. World Class cricketers like Kane and Boult along with a solid core should have made a difference. I still hope they make the semis.

Only India are likely to beat Australia now imo. West Indies, Pakistan and New Zealand all had their chances and couldn't make them pay.

I actually hope we get smashed by England, this team has no right to be playing a SF. It is going to be a walk over match for Aus/India and I'd rather see competitive Semis against the 4 best teams. We were really fortunate with washouts.

Well done, Australia. It's hard to see anything other than an Aus - India final at this point. Thank god Pakistan butchered their chase to keep our run rate alive - our only remaining hope in a fading campaign.

Have you seen our performances this world cup? There's nothing to be happy about, I would have been happier if they played better, fought hard and narrowly missed out than to go to the Semis playing the way they have.

m8 they've done better than i thought they would. i picked neesh and cdg to have at least one disaster between them by now and we've played pretty well given we carried munro for a billion games. no shame in losing to a braver, smarter australian performance. it's not acceptable and they should all be forced to run laps before settling in for some hate practice, then finally allowed to re-enter nz quietly after the all blacks take a dump on england in the world cup final, but there's more to life than getting cut up by losing to an inferior nation in our spare sport.
