Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

I think it's concerning that his wife said he wouldn't change his style when he comes back.

I know batting stocks are thin, and I wasn't sure what to think, but I'm sure of it now. Australian cricket does not need David Warner. And David Warner does not need Australian cricket, to play like a tough **nt.
Australian cricket does need David Warner, at least from a top-order talent perspective. And Justin Langer isn't the sort of guy who is going to ostracize Warner on the way he plays the game. Warner probably knows he doesn't need to change who he is to get back in that side. All Langer will give a **** about is on-field performance and results that will allow him to keep his job as coach. So he asks is David Warner the best guy to open the batting in all forms, on skill? Yes. OK, he's in.

I wouldn't know but I don't imagine there will be much kickback from the Australian public if Warner returns and is the same old **** he always was.

There won't be kickback.

He's the best man for the job sure, but the team doesn't need him. It needs characters without the look and temperament of a pitbull. The runs of which he is yet to make will just be tainted rewards.

Has to be more than ball tampering. It’s a bigger reaction than that’d warrant.

The official record of the sledge is:
"You're a disgrace, you shouldn't be playing cricket."

And apparently Phil's name was not involved at all.

If we want to put our conspiracy hats on, Warner's reaction would suggest the sledge was more along the lines of 'Phil would think you were a disgrace for what you did', and honestly I could see why he would walk of if someone went there. Pretty horrible thing to say, and so I hope that the original statement is true, and it's just Davey overreacting.

There were those 2 slower full tosses McDermott bowlers to SL. Pretty amusing stuff, that. Especially the batsmen's confusion. Can also think of some reverse swinging Waqar full tosses. Great stuff.

Can't remember who was batting at the time (think it was Chris Read), but I remember Curtly Ambrose delivered a superb slower ball yorker which made a complete mockery of the batsmen. Happened sometime during the 2000 England vs West Indies series.
