*Official* India Tour of England 2018

Pandya can bat a bit yes but you need to be either a specialist or a terrific all rounder. Pandya is neither. Bits and pieces cricketers don't work in tests.

Who were the last visiting teams to do well in England? Pakistan and New Zealand? Are the months they tour slightly less favorable for swing?

Pakistan toured early season which if anything should be conducive to swing. Jimmy wasn't looking his best back then and Broad was meh too. Curran and Bess had just come in too
Pakistani quicks were able to make use of the conditions better than their English counterparts and fielded better in the test they won. Bhuvi is an immense loss here.

Our bowling's been fine imo, other than a couple of erratic new ball spells and Kuldeep. They've covered for Bhuvi well.

England can improve if they get Woakes on the new ball. Means Broad will be fresher if he arrives after 8 or so overs . New ball doesn’t help broad but helps Woakes . Broad seems to get the movement he wants or needs when the ball is 10ish overs old and after, which is why I don’t want him on the new ball first up.

He’s bowled good lines today, but so have the others and they’ve all got movement. Curran in particular has been very unlucky today not to bag a few up front when he came on and bowled a nice spell.

India v England is just one of those things. The conditions are so different in both countries and players play most often
And are brought up in home conditions. It takes a long time to master playing away in alien conditions and sometimes it never happens even for top players . So India can’t be too disheartened. I think it’s just a shame England and India are so bad away against each other but it is What it is

This is a good partnership so far. Both are prone to lapses however at random times. England will want to finish it quickly or will start getting nervous if these two add 50 more

It beyond disgrace this batting displays from India.
England are unplayable bowling like this . They would have skittled anyone in these conditions. On,y English players brought up in these conditions would stand a chance along with New Zealand who have similar conditions at times

That is a slight exaggeration. Indian batsmen have woeful defenses. England have bowled well but not that well. You were just saying Broad hasn't been top notch.

Anderson is 36 and shoulder bothers him sometimes. When he’s fully fit then harder to play. Broad is very up and down. If he gets movement he is unplayable , if he gets none he’s like a bowling machine

Yeah he wasn't fully fit IIRC. He's looking better than ever now though.

Most teams would be skittled out under 200 on this track, under the lights twice including England.

He hadn’t been before he bowled today and until he started getting movement he was playable. Broad is a different kettle of fish if he gets movement in the air or off the pitch.

Hindsight is all well and good, but I just didn’t want him on the new ball and he didn’t take a wicket until the last ball of the 19th over. Broad started getting the most movement from the end of the 19th over onwards. In that sense I’d prefer he was held back as first change.

He’s a good bowler, but it’s frustrating when he gets no movement. He’s a prick at times too which does him no favours

Just cheekily put 5-0 into the ranking predictor and India would only be 5 points ahead of 2nd placed England if it happened. Ridiculous that England could move up to 2nd in the rankings given how average we are. India get the stuffing here then in Australia they will be ranked about 5th.
