our commentators are being a bit too channel 9 with the in jokes with the boys, pace salivating and the cheerleading

i realise it's tricky when the oppo this summer so far haven't shown up but i feel like neutrals must cringe

Nathan Mc and Doull were bizarre earlier, talking up how well Pak were bowling when NZ were heading for 300+.

Am back to radio now, more sense being talked.

They won't go full C9 until they start talking about pizza for 20 minutes and completely ignore the cricket

Scott Styris is all right. I can barely stand Ian Smith these days.
yeah styris, cumming and doull (i think) were clearly tryiing to be over the top impartial in the final T20, desperately looking for something from the windies to praise, but smith and richardson just don't give a **** anymore.

The only neutrals who'll be watching are probably just Dan and PEWS tbf

Enjoying this from Ferguson. Definitely improved from where he was a year ago; his second spell here is still up at 150 clicks.

Wonder if Latham's done some actual damage to his hand, seems to be favouring it heavily with his catching. Could be a chance for Phillips/Seifert/Blundell in the next game.

I sort of hope Latham is injured for the next few games, we lack fire power at 5/6. Would bring in Phillips or Seifert easy. Still not convinced he's a ODI starter.

This will be a massive defeat and yet don't think Pakistan have done all that wrong.

Pakistan bowled and fielded well and 316 was chaseable on this ground.

Mistake 1: Fielding first after winning the toss on a flat deck on a sunny morning

Mistake 2: Sarfraz dropping KW

Mistake 3: Azhar reviewing his lbw

Ultimately errors like that can lead to a massive defeat.

Azhar has a problem with incoming delivery and he adjusted that in England later in the series but it has come back again. His head falls over to the incoming delivery and he will get that from opposition because they know it. So he will have to fix that fast if he has to see off Southie.

Sarfraz has to realize unless Virat KohliI plays for Pakistan, you don't chase every time you win the toss. This team is a work in progress and chasing big totals is still beyond their reach.

Plus he needs to work on his keeping. Drops simple catches far too often. If he wasn't the skipper, you might make a case for Rizwan to replace him

Come on now, we all know Tom Blundell would get that call up.....

It's painfully obvious Latham's a Sub-continent conditions specialist in ODIs innit. Chap averages 49 in Asia & just 21 in NZ conditions. And it's not like we're not spoiled for choice with other 2 options.

Would prefer to see something like;

Guptill
Munro
KW
Taylor
Nicholls/Chapman
Philips/Seifert+
de Grandhomme
Santner
Henry/Bennett/Southee (Astle if pitch is taking turn).
Ferguson
Boult

Not totally convinced by Nicholls, but credit for doing well of late. If it doesn't continue, would like to see Chapman who seems to have the game for number 5.

Rate both Phillips and Siefer, better glove-men than Latham as well as being more destructive with bat. As I said earlier, look at Latham again for SC tours.

de Grandhomme is a lock at 7 atm, and his bowling is excellent on our decks.

I rate both Henry and Bennett better ODI bowlers than Southee, but for some reason Bennett continues to be ignored. He was excellent in those ODIs against Bangers & Ireland last year.

Much better hitting power in the middle there than today's side. Doesn't look like it will cost NZ this match.

Checked the score a couple of hours back and Pakistan were 50/4 in 15, so it's been an impressive recovery from there.
