Good stuff KW. Looked a bit scratchy early on (why on earth he was rested from those WI Odis is beyond me given our scarcity of cricket in the last 6 months), but has got more and more fluid as the innings has gone on. So good at placing the ball wide or short of the outfielders to get 2 instead of just singles, and rarely faces a dot ball once he gets in.

Pakistan have been sharp on the field (apart from Sarf's dropped catch) and bowled well and still ended up conceding 315. Just goes to show what a disastrous decision it was to bowl first on this pitch based on this baseless fear of "swinging conditions in NZ". Pakistan think tank's failure to plan and research and understand that the Test pitches they got in November 2016 were just that - Test pitches in a different period of time. No reason to be traumatised by that in an ODI series in January.

I can understand the frustration. KW is the only non Big 3 player in the so called Fab 4 and faces all the disadvantages of playing from a 'smaller' side and then people talk about 'style over substance' in relation to him. This kind of snotty privilege stinks
