Because it has nothing to with this innings? He's been a passenger, especially in the test team for a long time now. An average of 32 is nowhere near good enough to be batting at 4/5.

Least Cook is still new to international cricket and deserves an extended run.

Yeah, that's the issue.

Stick Rossouw in instead of Duminy you only have five POCs. It could work though, they've exceeded the quotas in some of the limited overs stuff this season and they'll be judged on the average of POCs in the side across all formats.

I still think the original plan may have been to play Parnell at 7 in place of Duminy and push QDK to 6. I think the injury to Parnell hurt SA`s plans.
