lol i turn on the commentary of the lancashire game to see what the commentators think of Pakinson's legspin and they go off straight away because there is too much noise from a building site. Noise stopped play. Trott doing the complaining apparently.

I can forgive the Tahir like celebration on your first first class wicket.

Surrey should push the accelerator right now in their game. They really need the win. Imo should set them 340/350 and have a couple of overs at Notts tonight.

Well Warwickshire have subsided from 54-0 to 94-6, decent chance of being able to enforce the follow on. Not sure we would though.

Two for Parky now and Lancs in a strong position - would be more confident if Rikki Clarke and Keith Barker didn't have so much previous for causing us problems

Awful collapse, not for the first time this year. Our much vaunted batting lineup fails yet again.

Run out cheaply first innings, bowled early doors by Adam Lyth second.

Has Borthwick decided he doesn't want the England call-up? :D

It's important to have boundaries.

Timothy comfortably outscoring the whole Durham side. I expect he'd bat at three for them.

He gets some sweet drift. The last two wickets where he bamboozles the left handed tailenders. Throws it out wide into the rough and drifts away at the last before spinning back through the gate and castling Rankin and Hannon Dalby.

Today's wickets

Guess Rashid and Lawson are the cautionary tales. Rashid took a load on debut and in his first season but then struggled and has only just found his way. Lawson started brightly but played his last game in his mid 20s.

Still it's nice to dream that one of Crane or Parkinson could be the answer to England's spin bowling problems in the future. Having Stokes (and maybe Sam Curran in time) allows you the freedom of a leggy who isn't much of a batsman.

Meanwhile Hameed has a shot at his maiden ton, though we'd probably have to bat until tea tomorrow to help him...
