Damn international fixtures for next summer released. Some interesting things. ODIS at start and end of summer (rather than middle and end). Champions Trophy after those first ODIS. First tourists SA, then WI. Last test of the summer starts 7 September. Last ODI 29 September - and a day nighter. Damn that will be cold wet.

Was at the game last night, it was an incredibly frustrating batting performance, we were fairly up with the rate the whole time but every time we hit a big shot to get us ahead of the rate we gave a wicket away the next ball. After Livingstone hit his 3 sixes off legitimately awful full tosses we threw 2 wickets away in 2 balls trying to hit sixes off non awful balls when we were in a really good position. Then it just carried on in the same vein for the rest of the innings against what should have been a reasonable total to chase down.

Do really like Livingstone every time I see him though. Although we are pretty unlikely to win anything this year the emergence of Livingstone & Hameed has been pretty encouraging as a supporter, and i think we will get at least a couple of full seasons out of both before they come into England contention. Been so long since we had any decent batting prospects, although a few false dawns.

Hope Tom Smith is fully fit to bowl, don't fancy out third seamer being a combination of Clarke/Procter. Second time this season we have had to face Broad, good test for Hameed

A bit weird to watch the match on Trent Bridge Live - the picture quality is as good as I have ever seen from a stream, but a single fixed camera with no replays takes me back to my childhood

Came on to say exactly this, its not like were short of bowling talent to come through. As much as I lay into Procter, its only because Clarke is not always in the team.

Is it just me, or does Bopara seem to be getting really rather decent bowling figures a lot recently?

I think I love Hameed. More deliveries faced in div 1 than anyone else this season. Get him in the test team already. But seriously I reckon a good chance of lions first class cricket this winter. Seems to have the temperament and will gradually increase his strokeplay and sr with confidence/experience

Yeah, his SR has been slowly ticking upwards. Sounds like the kind of player we will need going forward to balance out all the dashers that Bayliss will want to pick.

Good on Yorkshire for making div 1 a bit more exciting this year. Looks quite open at the top of the table. Looking down their averages and Gale with a batting average of 17.92 from 14 completed knocks sticks out.
