Really? Apart from what you mentioned his use of part timers in LO cricket is weird as well imo.
I meant to write good Test captain. I have been a fan of some of his declarations + bowling changes in that format (MItchell Marsh used very well).

There is no better player than AB who could destroy an attack from this situation.

Wonder what was the thought behind sending Morris now?

AB scored 149 against WI coming in to bat in the 39th over.

Maybe they feel its too early for him now.

Eh I don't mind Morris coming out so much, he's really improved his hitting in the last six months. I think if he came out it should've meant Faf dropping down to 5 or lower though (ie. AB should be in now).

Its a very South African thing to do... hold back your best and most devastating player in case he gets out...

Very bewildering attitude.

If it were upto me AB would come in at number 3. He could have a much better influence on the game then.

Without watching the game, sending in Morris is exactly the type of thing that you do in a round robin game of a meaningless series - may as well find out a few more things about your players.

Thing is we know what Morris can do, he is a solid big hitting allrounder... if AB had been sent in and got out, and then they sent in Morris I could accept that. There is not a single good reason to not send AB in.... the only reason why AB is held back is the 'threat' of what he could potentially do; having him come in at 5 is a giant blue safety blanket the SA team keep holding onto....
