Heard there was a fire or something?
Yep, it was interesting enough, could smell it, but not see it. Apparently an electrical fault in the old grandstand, probably only the asbestos stopped it from spreading.
It was in a little room in the middle which no-one goes in, no-one really knew what to call it. Farcical, "utility room" was used but no-one knew where the **** that was. If it had been a real fire it would have been another Bradford, club could easily get fined. We've complained we can't hear the tannoy in our stand, where it happened, whats been done about it, **** all. Honestly they should just shut the grandstand down now.
I finally bit the bullet and made complaints about various supervisors, so it really will be my last match stewarding, most of them are just utter ***** with no knowledge of how to talk to people. True shambles, they're losing stewards by the dozen, but it's always are fault. So they have to hire in Shadow Security at a massive cost to the club.
What great initials for people that work in the security Biz eh?
Great to be at the start of a conspiracy theory though, gives you some insight into how these things start. The utility room is pretty much in the middle of the stand. Yet I heard at the bus-stop some bloke telling some other bloke that this bloke had told him that it was some bloke who threw a flare that set off this electrical box.
Umm, it was a locked room, with no access apart from the padlocked door. One for Jonathan Creek that. Guess the rumour will spread like wildfire.
EDIT: Turns out it was a smoke-bomb, so what they said to us was wrong, very odd. Probably should have gone to the debrief but didn't see the point as I'm never going back.
