Thoroughly enjoyable, although perhaps we could have made things a bit more comfortable for ourselves. Looking forward to the second leg. :)

Had no live coverage but I have the late night replay set to record. It's going be like watching a train wreck isn't it.

I almost made an ironic comment about whether we'd see stuff in the media about how they lacked experience and leaders after today. Didn't expect them to actually do it.

Dortmund were unbelievable in that game. Even allowing for the expected level of Anglocentrism, Spurs being crap was in no way the story there.

I also didn't get why anyone cared? The game was worth ****-all to Spurs, they should have played an even weaker team. I guess you can't write a match report saying "Spurs lost, nobody cares" though.

Judging from the reaction of Spurs fans online they were pretty disappointed. Think they viewed it as a real chance to see how good they actually were. They've also got Villa on the weekend. They played a stronger lineup in the group stages when they had a trip to the Emirates on the Sunday afterwards.

Controversial but I think this Dortmund team is better than any of the Klopp ones were. More versatile in their play and have greater squad depth. Their turnaround from the shambles of last season is also a case study for Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Arsenal and any other club that ever has a season where they fall short of expectations. No talk of war chests or squad overhaul because they recognised the talent was there for the most part. Got in a new coach with fresh ideas who shifted the playing style and taught a few new tricks. The only significant change in their outfield personal was getting a 19 year old midfielder from the 2nd division to change the dynamic of the team. They signed a goalkeeper from the same division and a useful squad player from a rival club and they were there. A lot of players who struggled last season are having amazing seasons. Shows how much of football is about the system and coaching and I think it gets lost a bit in England with all the money around.

Don't mind people questioning Rafa for taking the Newcastle job as its a bloody tough one, straight into a relegation dogfight with a very expectant crowd.

I do however find it absurd that people are questioning Newcastle for hiring him, who else were they expecting? Pep?

Its a sensational appointment by them.

I don't know how we managed to bag Rafa, the man is well above our current station. Who's been questioning us for signing him?

I heard a caller on talk sport last night say you should have gone for Sherwood instead. Serious.

Great for Newcastle getting Rafa. Not sure he will keep them up as they are so dire but if he does he will make them a much better side than they have been in recent seasons and they will improve rapidly.

Let's hope the improvement is not immediate though. Need a Leicester win on Monday

McClaren had won four of his last 15 League games. He had to go.

Van Gaal has won five of his last 15 League games. With a far better team. Job for life, apparently.
