Those two quick strikes mean England back in with a chance here. SA are going to have to dig in all the way to the bitter end.

Still not enough time left to force a result, we'd need to bowl them out in the next 10 overs tops and then score 250 in 40 odd overs.

Just not happening.

Silly shot from QDK. Guess its one of those players where you will at times tear your hair out cause of things like that. Just got to back through moments like that and hope he produces more of the other moments he is capable of.

Yep pretty much. Can't see Cook setting less than 400 or 5 an over.
Would be worth the South Africans being all out in the next 10 overs and England hitting 250-300 in 40 overs just for the statistical weirdness of South Africa's 1st innings having outlasted both of England's innings put together yet having declared twice and won.

But that's getting into astronomical proportions of unlikeliness.

Nor should Cook settle for less than 400. This is an absolute belter. If you set them 350 and someone goes off at top of the order then you've managed to lose having declared twice.

If we can get the last 4 relatively quickly then I reckon we should just bat out the day and see what the state of play is at the close. No way should the bowlers bowl again today.

And on that note Anderson coming out of the attack isn't the worst thing.

There is also absolutely no point in setting a declaration that gives South Africa a sniff of the win. It's a risk England don't need to take.

Finn has bowled so superbly here. Massively deserves better figures.

Morris looks a decent bat. I am not sure we should declare at all when we bat again.
