I'm talking about a discrete instantaneous change in direction, different to swing with is a steady change in direction over a distance. What about when a ball swings late after its past the batsman and deviates from its original line?
"Cloudy" mark on the top glove which went back to normal colour 2 frames later.Couldn't see any mark myself but I may be looking through my SL glasses
Yes so am I ,I have seen matches where the ball deviates from its original line late on and is past the batsman..I am not saying this happened in this circumstance but just that a ball CAN deviate due to late swing..I'm talking about a discrete instantaneous change in direction, different to swing with is a steady change in direction over a distance.
There was also a noise at the exact right time, but it weirdly didn't show up on snicko?"Cloudy" mark on the top glove which went back to normal colour 2 frames later.
But I think ump was convinced by the replay from behind which showed deviation and change of rotation of the seam on the ball at the same time as the ball went past the bat.
I admit I haven't watched any of this match, but based that on how I've seen him bat impulsively most times.Sorry mate but have you been watching a different match? Some of the cover drives he played were absolutely fantastic even before you take into account the wicket and the quality of swing bowling he is facing too??He has been on the up for most of the year...
I'm loving the intent from the bowlers.Loving the bounce in this pitch.
Fair enough, I agree that as was said before, his shot selection has been poor at times but his ability and technique is clear..I admit I haven't watched any of this match, but based that on how I've seen him bat impulsively most times.
And do they have the patience and technique to cope with the short pitched bowling second time around.Once again, interesting cricket today. Last 4 NZ tests have been great to watch (apart from 1st day at Perth).
Pitch here seems to be a winner, much more bounce than with the old clay.
Think match will be decided on how well NZ batsman cope with Herath.
Yeah SL are probably going to turn to the short bowling barrage quite quickly if they don't have much success with the new ball. And do they have the patience and technique to cope with the short pitched bowling second time around.
