Hazlewood is bowling beautifully. The line and length his bowling is about as good I've seen for swing bowling for a long time. He's got the ability to get the ball to swing out, ever so slightly, and then seam back when it pitches. He can also get it to go the other way.

Warner hits the winning runs and McCullum decides to review. Nigel Llong takes 5 minutes to review the decision that he has in fact hit the ball with the middle of the bat. Meanwhile Warner and Voges continue to run and get through 22 runs.

One could say it's a lottery.

I'm sorry I'm sorry.
I know your not being serious, but it really is. There's two contradictary pieces of batting technique that always float around - "Don't leave a gap between bat and pad" and "don't play around your front pad". When you've got a bloke nipping it both ways you literally can't do both at once because you have to adjust the line you're playing at the last second to account for the movement.

I think Guptil is a very good ODI player. His record is excellent in that form of the game. However he is not alone in not being able to bring ODI form to test cricket. There are better ODI batsmen who've struggled to do the same. Michael Bevan is one who comes to mind.

This has been great to watch btw. Test cricket with the atmosphere of a day night game us such a great combo. Can't believe it's take this long to get started.

**** me shutup about the review. If the New Zealand players are still ruing that event and not concentrating on the task at hand then we deserve to lose.

I reckon using two other famous pieces of batting technique (ie) playing late and not following the ball with your hands can help a great deal in such conditions. You do need luck though, true enough.
