Yep, one of the best knocks I've seen live. So much carnage around him etcThe Williamson ton seems like it was days ago with all the chaos of the last 2 sessions, but man it was so good to watch. What a player and great for NZ cricket, going to be fun following his career over the next few years.
He played his last test in June of this year. That means the selectors rate him. I won't be satisfied until it is widely conceded in the Carribean that he never should have been picked.Pretty sure Permaul isn't rated by even WindieWeathers
bwahahaha i'll give you the edge thenWarner is coming close to being excused from my list. I was quite impressed with how he paced his inning today.
Burns earned his way on to the list based on his century. Most good outswing bowlers in the world should be able to get him out without too much fuss.

No idea why you think Warner is overrated as:Warner is coming close to being excused from my list. I was quite impressed with how he paced his inning today.

If he was from New Zealand they'd be jumping up and down calling him the greatest opener everNo idea why you think Warner is overrated as:
a. he has played some tremendous innings against the Kiwis; and
b. anyone that takes as many risks as he does and still averages near 50 is simply ****ing good (and I don't like the guy)
Burns is a work in progress and time will tell
Ya know....it really pissed me off when bond left (he deserves more time with his family and the easier and larger sum of money from the ipl...did get us to our first ever final after all) but its not him leaving that frustrated me. It's who they had planned as a replacement.... Dimitri whatever. Can't even say his full name and nor do I care about finding out who he is. So that's the Worthy replacement they got for SHANE FRIKKIN BOND. EITHER GET A WORTHY REPLACEMENT OR BRING BOND BACK. PAY HIM WHATEVER HE ASKS. The bowling has gotten worse throughout the England series and onwards.Yeah, you gotta wonder to what extent Bond's departure has contributed to this **** show.
I've been thinking the same thing, but look, he worked with the same set of guys for a period of over two years. IIRC, his stint as bowling coach started when NZ toured Sri Lanka in late 2012 (probably the best I've seen Southee and Boult bowl as a pair, not sure if that's correlation or causality there) and ended after the World Cup this year; in that time the test match pace attack has only ever been a combination of Southee/Boult/Bracewell/Wagner. You'd expect these guys to have picked up a good deal from him in that time and apply what they've learned. I doubt Mascharenhas has been able to undo all that successfully in the space of a couple of tests. Bit early to be putting the Gabba performance down to Bond's departure.Ya know....it really really pissed me off when bond left but (he's a family man and deserves the easy and larger sum of money from ipl from all his NZ work) who did they have as shane frikkin bonds' replacement?? Dimitri whatever I can't even say his name and nor do I care. At first I didn't think of it much but seeing the bowling progressively through England and after....I don't know why he's there. GET A WORTHY REPLACEMENT. OR BRING BACK BOND. PAY WITH WHATEVER HE ASKS.

Isn't this the kind of pattern that a discussion on Sehwag usually follows? Can see where both sides are coming from, but yeah would like to know 'Cane's reasoning. If he was from New Zealand they'd be jumping up and down calling him the greatest opener ever
Might be too early yet but he could well be regarded the best NZ bat in history in a few years time. Such a classy player. The Williamson ton seems like it was days ago with all the chaos of the last 2 sessions, but man it was so good to watch. What a player and great for NZ cricket, going to be fun following his career over the next few years.
Nah 'Cane just hates Warner because he doesn't open the 'right' way. Not sure who the 'they' is that your referring to since afaik there hasn't been a single other NZ poster who's done anything besides grudgingly admire Warner's excellence. If he was from New Zealand they'd be jumping up and down calling him the greatest opener ever
4 seamers is a possibility with Wagner too in the mix, but won't happen - Baz/Hesson are bullish on Craig.Trent Boultland will come good eventually he is too good to not to. Southee would be a huge loss if i state the obvious. They should go with 4 seamers in WACA cos Craig is useless and try to you know just bowl some normal stuff like pitch around off at good length and stuff. Southee (assuming fit),Boult,Henry and Bracewell. Proper batsman in for Neesham as well
there's one difference though. the age warner is now is the age hayden was when he scored his second ton. warner's up to 14Being serious, which one is/was better. Warner or Hayden?
Got very similar records average wise and hundreds per match ratios. Both destructive and both split opinion among fans.
