Munro averages 50 in FC cricket.Should be given more of a go in that format....
Careful. The CW natives get restless with such fandangled logic. The CW indigenous can be quite feral and attack you for such comments without any provocation. Their medicine men and elders will not have their Munro stories and commandments challenged with any use of statistic or reason. They will attract marauding minions to post unflattering comments about yourself. Missionaries expanding any virtue of modern cricketing approach not in the 20th century Wisden manual regularly disappear from these parts. Cannibalism is not unheard of in the region.

Plus he is out of form a bit at the moment. Winter could have been kinder to him.

Can't play spin, can't play anything over 135k, can't bowl anymore (not that he had anything). Oh yes please give him a chance in the test team.

Jesus Christ.

Edit: You're not an Australian selector are you Blocky?

To the shame of Milne, it's actually true. Well, one shot. More problems with Sodhi though, I never see him playing Ish well.

SIX: @manuz05 shows no respect for Adam Milne and hits him over the square leg boundary with a fine shot.
SIX: @manuz05 shows his ability to innovate and reverse pulls Grant Elliott over the point - third man boundary
CHANCE: @manuz05 gets a life when he is dropped by Elliott on the square leg boundary from the bowling of @ish_sodhi

He's been (partially) lost to the apprentice sparky game. Sad loss.
The ZCF forum will prick their ears up at that. They hated the fact we gave him some caps in 2012, deliberately to make him ineligible for the Chevrons.

Sadly for them, I guess being an apprentice sparky and a Georgie Pie Super Smash specialist in Auckland is still better, if he can keep up with the mortgage/rent.

It's by far the best place to actually get Zimbabwean cricket news but by gosh is it ever a terrible forum.

First squad by the new selectors. All-rounders the debate & de Kock needing to get back to having confidence in his talent was their decisions to make.

Went with Philander/Wiese & no McLaren/Morris/Parnell which I suppose is fair enough. Still reckon Wiese reverts to slower ball to quickly.

Yeah I find it pretty sad how Zim fans and Windies fans all just want to be alone on their forums these days. Like Amish people.

Plunket shield averages are only one indicator of success at test cricket. On the back of FC stats we have given a number of no hopers a shot eg.

Munro
Ingram
Rutherford
Hopkins

Generally we tend to give people a chance in test cricket if they gun it in plunket. But once they look village at that level or just inadequate they get sent back down. And depending on how bad they looked sometimes permanently. Munro will be one of the permanent cases.

Effectively Plunket shield is much easier than test cricket - so it can only ever be one indicator of success. Ideally a shrewd selector will watch the player in action before promoting them, until we get someone like Edgar back again then we probably won't have that additional level of validation.

Same goes for bowlers to some extent. I championed Bucko for years based on the fact he was basically the only spinne rto sustain a sub 35 average for so long. Turns out he's a bit rubbish eh. Brent Arnel too.

The Arnel who'd gun it in the Plunket Shield was just visibly better than the one who turned up in Test matches, I think.

QdK made a century for SA A against India A this morning if anyone's interested, clearly too good for that level.Interestingly,Dane Vilas made the only other real score of note....

Yup, looks like a one man show from de Kock, but dang, India A are well & truly cruising towards that target.
