Do these colourful graphics that claim to attribute Milne and Woakes' pace to different parts of their actions have any scientific basis?
They're measuring the speed of the ball while it's still in the hand and it was done by the hawkeye guys. So a little bit. The lines of where they are saying "the run up" "the shoulder" or whatever is the chief force in the movement speed at that specific time is probably a little arbitrary.

But it looks right.

Nah, that's actually a pretty good breakdown of a fast bowler's action. All about that snap of the shoulder and wrist/fingers.

All I know is that if the elbow section gets above 25% of the total bar the jonbrooks gets sent a txt message warning telling him to update his chucking thread.

Botham's heavy breathing on the commentary needs to be reported to the police. Dodgy ****er.

Those people maki out that Cook isn't suited to the modern ODI are as out of step with the current ODI as Moores appears to be. I know Cook was out of form, but his run of scores pre-world cup wasn't really that atrocious that he deserved to be shown as the key element holding England back from achieving their potential. England still have a line up to pile on the runs in the last twenty - but there's a lot of reliance on Morgan and Buttler hitting the 150ish strike rate required. Root has been excellent lately, but he's more of a 100-120 strike rate player in those circumstances.

A lot of people don't understand limited overs cricket IMO. Cook got butchered because he personally didn't have the potential to go at required run rates you get maybe 5% of the time. Which is completely crazy. You need a balance and when you have icing that can score at 8-9 an over you don't need everyone to always go above a run a ball. Best England ODI side of my lifetime had Cook and Trott at 1 and 3.

I've also mentioned elsewhere that any England fan who actively dislikes Cook or blames him for England's troubles needs to get their head screwed on. People crediting Bell's form as him not having to bat with the evil Cook anymore, etc.

But honestly, I'm Cook's biggest fan but in the end he was the perpetrator of his own downfall. No fifty since we played you lot in the champions trophy. That genuinely is awful.

Sinclair just tipped the coffee table over at home when Smithy offered Bumble a job with the Sky Sports NZ commentary team.

Smithy definitely the heavy breather. Stops when he's talking.

Probably had to walk up a short flight of stairs to get to the commentary box.
