Isn't it about time to dump this "spirit of the game" bullsh!t? Honestly I would prefer professional cricketers going all out to win the game. The batsmen are getting an advantage (however slight) by backing up too much - bowlers should be mankading left and right to stop that practice. It's already a batsman's game.

Yeah I agree. Lets just have laws and ****ing play to them. I think letting a bowler go into his run up is to far personally though. It should be a universal rule that as soon as the bowlers delivery stride starts he can't mankad.

They changed that law recently to make it so that you can't finish your bowling action then mankad. So that would require another rule change.

Yeah the old rule still exists outside of ODIs apparently which is weird. Now i've calmed down and read the ODI rules:
A) Isn't even close to the major issue which is England's batting is regressing badly
B) Buttler was brainless after being warned.

Holding adding a nice point about how it should not even be referred to the captain - if its out it should just be out. That would take away the ambiguity and this "spirit of the game" nonsense.

He is wrong that the captain can't call the oppo back for an LBW though. Captain can take back an appeal at any point before the batmen leaves the field and if the umpire permits it.

This is a bad post.
Had the intended effect it seems.

If you want me to waste some space by stating the obvious then I can. If the batsman is not interested in protecting his wicket or risks it for an unfair advantage, there is nothing to whine about if opponents run him out. End of.

So you were trolling, then? K.

Lanka playing it perfectly. Get on top so the pace off bowlers can be smothered easily. Need two or three wickets in next 5 overs
