Didn't even realise play had restarted and a wicket's down.

I take back everything I said about Wagner. YOU SUCK MURALI VIJAY.

Yeah, and that pressure release counts against him as a bowler. The effect one bowler can have on the guy down the other end is huge (see Boult when there's no Southee), so I can't see 2-3 overs of filth from Wagner helping the other bowler build pressure and take wickets. Not necessarily a terminal weakness, but a pretty obvious one nonetheless.

Interested to see this Santner bloke Blocky keeps going on about. If he's got more upside/potential than Sodhi does, he must be one hell of a spinner.
Santner isn't going to be the next Warne or even the next Vettori, but he's a highly capable bat who gets good bounce as a spin bowler and has a pretty wicked faster arm ball.

Rahane and Dhoni are probably Wagner's wickets to take, based on his "I only like top order players" wicket taking method.

Also, after getting over the "Vijay finally got out" excitement, that actually was a bloody good ball by Wagner.

2 decent balls from Wagner, but that was just a straight one. Not to take anything away from him, we really needed that wicket to press home the advantage.

Also, Wags bowling 146kmh - great sign, not falling over as much as he was during the West Indies series. This could well be his series to get that average down.

Challenge is, though, not going back to bowling dross after a purported piece of genius.
He's the one bowler in this attack who should be bowling at least eight over spells, if not ten to twelve. If McCullum leaves him at the crease for a longer spell, you watch his threat rise.
