*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Burst onto the scene as a batsmen. Had like ~ 6 hundreds before he was 20 and destroyed some very good attacks. The broke his finger badly and has been indifferent with the bat since. Bowling is vastly improved from medium pace stuff to decent pace with decent skills in English conditions but can be erratic. Will bowl England's quickest delivery in the match probably.
Excellent summary, thanks mate

What's Stokes' background?

I know he bowls mediums

Is he a decent bat, or a bit n pieces all-rounder type?
Will probably be a bit livelier than medium. I think he has the potential to be a genuine all-rounder, but he's probably a little Flintoff-like in terms of his positive style of play with the bat which at the moment is not lending itself to any kind of consistency. He bats more in the top order for Durham, there is clearly the talent there for him to develop but it all seems a bit rushed for me. Expect him to be pretty expensive with the ball.

Bit annoyed to miss the pre game build up because of C of A commitment. The old blokes better get in and off the bench pre 11

I suppose the selection dovetails with the Perth Test - in that Bresnan will be a certainty and may find it hard to back up after Adelaide given his lack of overs in recent times

Still, I hope that wasn't a consideration as they must prioritise this Test over all else

He is at least fast mediums now, touches 90 fairly regularly but his batting has been really average for a couple of years. Think there is a SLIGHT case of the selectors wanting to see a batsmen who bowls 90 MPH rather than him actually being that.
