*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Picking Panesar is a full blown panic move. No way he was even in consideration prior to Brisbane, should just go Bres and whoever they fancy more as a bat out of Stokes/Ballance.

And that's what we've come to expect from the England management, no panic and generally sticking to the balance of the side unless the pitch absolutely dictates (or the situation) otherwise. I doubt this is going to be the case at Adelaide, but we seem to be considering pretty drastic changes. Obviously we will view this as a must win because of our record at Perth but let's not be beaten before we get there.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
If Bresnan's fit he surely has to play. Even without his obvious cricketing skills, he has just the type of character and fight we need in this Test.
Big risk as he is only just back from a pretty serious injury

Tremlett wasn't that bad in 'vegas - down on pace but he still did a job

Absolutely, and I must emphasise that if he is considered fit enough for a five-day game he must play. I appreciate there's no guarantees until play gets underway, but reckon they'll have a good idea if he's up to the rigours of Test cricket. And selecting Tremlett is always a gamble where retaining fitness is concerned.

Anyway -

Cook century
England to suffer another collapse of sorts
Warner century
Swann to play better
England in shallow, populist selection crisis
At least one Aussie fan to shout abuse about Trott to KP on the boundary
