The attack just looks totally punchless though, and just like Lyon Starc is being found out big time here, maybe he might come back in the ashes but it depends on how this experience effects him, he can either learn from it or crumble, but right now the only bowling prospects that are the real deal for Aus are Pattinson and Cummins imo.

I just feel sorry for Clarke, as an Australian fan I'm proud to have a leader who aspires to make this team the best in the world and he is leaving no stone unturned to achieve the same, but at the same time feel ashamed to see peformances like these.

Pretty sure its going to be the batsmen who would be criticised from all corners after this series and that certainly won't be without reason, but our bowling barring Patto has been so poor, that it really won't have made a huge difference even if we batted a bit better as a team.

I hope that after the series we identify the sort of bowlers who can actually deliver in all conditions, rather than continuing with the sort of bowlers who are totally reliant on favourable conditions.

Pattinson has been as good as you can be without any support from the other end, he has bowled quick, altered his lengths regularly and tbh he has looked like the only bowler who could get people out in these conditions.

qld, sa and nsw are currently sending out disgraceful batting line-ups, while WA are sending out a mostly disgusting one. david dawson still gets a game. scott henry, michael klinger and liam davis all average under 25 in their 8-10 games for the season, and their spots are completely unquestioned. peter forrest has scored 1/3 on the runs he has made in 10 matches in one innings. he made a king pair last match. he then got promoted up the order for this game.

NSW cricket is in a mess right now so they are trying to introduce young players into their system and in terms of results that seems to be working for them, even then they have guys like Rohrer, Maddinson, Neville and Haddin within their ranks, as for guys like Klinger, Davis and Forrest they have scored good amount of runs for their respective sides in the previous seasons, hence its not surprising that they are getting a longer rope.

Qld have guys like Pomers, Hartley, Forrest, Hopes and Burns in there batting line-up and tbh these are pretty much the sort of batsman who have contributed to their SS success in recent times, as for SA they have never really been too serious about the standard of their first class side and that is reflected in their performances in SS cricket over the last decade.

WA too have guys like Davis, Marsh, Hussey and Voges within their ranks along with young guys like Harris and Whiteman who have made their presence felt with a few good knocks.

So all in all if you look at it, pretty much every first class side has enough depth in batting to atleast be scoring 250-300 runs on a consistent basis, but instead even scoring a hundred runs is proving to be tall order for most sides, which is a clear indication of how heavily these seamer friendly conditions are effecting the domestic structure of the game in Australia.

India have such a long, long way to go to win this that it's crazy. It seems so easy for Aussies to pull out a draw. Even if India put on a lead, they won't have to bat out more than two and a half sessions...

I think India may be 100 ahead by tea tomorrow and could then go crazy and try for a huge lead before declaring and seeing if they can get a couple out early and put the pressure on. Lets be honest, they have licence here to go for it as they can't lose this game from here as there isn't time for Australia to bowl them out twice and bat themselves. India with a win or the draw are the only results available now. Just a case of how badly Australia collapse in the 2nd innings.
