I was a fan of Dhawan for like so many years after he dominated in the U19 WC ages ago. But after a couple of years saw him more as a ODI prospect. This feels good though. Will be interesting how long it lasts.

India have such a long, long way to go to win this that it's crazy. It seems so easy for Aussies to pull out a draw. Even if India put on a lead, they won't have to bat out more than two and a half sessions...
India could be in the lead by lunch time or a little after that tomorrow. Of course that assumes they do t just collapse suddenly but we are talking of what's possible. There is surely a chance to win - its not impossible

OK fair enough it's difficult to see Australia taking 20 wickets in the next two days, but India are still 200 behind with only two days to go! Surely India winning odds are massively inflated. Wishing again that I could bet from the US :(.
The draw is only 2/7. Not much in the pitch but you still wouldn't want your mortgage against Australia collapsing on day five in India.

I reckon we're too Australian at times.

In Indian you have to play a **** brand of cricket on these pitches and go with a 7/2 field and stick it well outside off and hope you wear them down.

The problem is that you grow up in this country thinking that's weak as dog ****, but in India attritional cricket wins the day and that becomes a genuine tactic.

Could have saved countless runs by putting in a deep cover and moving 3rd man squarer

Told you yesterday that India would win this

Our spinners are absolutely dreadful and making this pitch look far better than it is

Ojha, who puts very little on the ball, got some to turn absolutely square whilst our guys have done nothing

At his rate, India will be well ahead before the end of play tomorrow and that will be it, I'm afraid
When after getting kicked out of the T20 world cup Bailey faced the media, he said there was a need to develop skillful spinners in Australia, within days of this the chief of selectors said that doing so would 'hurt' our integrity!!

I hope he's watching this and how our integrity is being held high by people with classical actions and big heart.

India are scoring at 6 an over almost, lately. There are 200 or so overs left in the match. If India kept going at that rate, whether by slogging to 550 now and hitting 200 in 30 overs later or whatever. Then Australia would have to bat out 100+ overs to save the game.

I think 85-90 overs is probable as a minimum unless weather is a factor.

Teams that win in India don't necessarily use those tactics though. Look at England. They weren't defensive.
