John Wright finally getting something like his preferred team in his last game? I really REALLY hope these guys do well. This should be the core of our bowling for the next decade.

The biggest surprise for me in this Test series has been Guptill. He showed some pretty dire form in the warm up game, but it's encouraging to see a NZ top order batsman string some decent scores together.
He just needs to turn a few of those decent scores into really big scores.

So, you're batting at 7 while your team's innings is in some trouble. What to do? Call through your partner, an opener doing well on 70 not out, for a risky single, jus when he showed some trouble with his muscles?

This is so typical of us in the last few years. Get into a half-decent position, then lose a whole bunch of wickets at once.

Wonder if any NZ batsman will actually make a century this series.

Very happy that the Windies are starting to look good again. Have the potential to become a top three side in the coming years with solid batting, pace and spin.

Just so disappointing the way these guys get out. I can only imagine what Wagner is thinking about his new team mates. He spends four years toiling away in first class cricket, finally qualifies and is now part of a team of blokes who regularly throw their wicket away.

Taylor and Williamson the most culpable. ****ing horrendous shots.

Southee scores a preposterous proportion of his test runs in sixes. Just over a quarter by my calculation.
Really? Wow...

It's well known that Kruger is selfish. What a pr*ck of a thing to do to someone who had worked that hard, and is perfectly capable of getting himself out haha.

So what do we read into Martin's dropping? Boult a better bet to get the lefties out, or end of the line? Interesting given Trent was injured and hasn't had a match run under his belt for quite some time, and Martin had.

For my money at this stage in their careers Boult is a better bowler overall, and is only likely to improve, so sticking with him is the right choice.

Added runs is also a bonus

Probably "Ah, so this is why I get so many first-class wickets".

Seems unlikely given Chanderpaul will turn 38 this month, and Gayle's not getting any younger either. And without those two, they're not much of a threat as things stand. Then Samuels & Best could also be nearing the end of their careers.

Martin did go at almost 4.5 an over in the first innings of the last test. That's dire when you consider he bowled 30 overs.

The only one of those 3 I'd be worried about losing is Gayle tbh.

Handy partnership this, Tino will be wary, he has first hand experience of this kind of thing

260 then. Not a terrible score in the end. Hopefully WI can avoid doing something stupid in these last few overs.
