***Official*** England in Sri Lanka 2012

and Ajmal's doosra was extremely accurate too which kept on playing on hte minds of the English. Ajmal's doosra is significantly more lethal than even Saqlain's doosra I think.

Also I think it is more to do with the slow pace of the wickets with the ball not coming onto the bat quite as nicely as in England which causes problems.

The reverse is true for the SC batsmen in England where the ball comes on quicker than in the SC and with lateral movement in the air and off the pitch it becomes a very different challenge
Yes absolutely, the slow nature of the pitches in the sub-continent is something England sides have always struggled to come to terms with, in all forms of the game. At least we are doing as much as we can so the future England players are more accustomed to the conditions when they first tour with the full Test side by having so many trips to the sub-continent with the England performance teams and England Lions.

....I'm not sure if the 3rd ump can take that projection seriously. i mean...no more bounce? At all? Gee

Must've been close to three metres there. Be happier if those weren't given.

****ing brainless shot tho. Sweeping again.

Suppose it can't be overturned because there's no clear-cut evidence the umpire was wrong but... since when do you give out lbw's that are that close when the batsman is half way down the pitch?

It was Bell that was not given out to a similar lbw in the world cup right?

Also Fatty Herath sticking another pole up Boycott's mum with that one.

Yeah it looked faulty - didn't it.

I'm preparing for the Bell is rubbish in Asia talk from one forum member in particular, but that's an unlucky decision for sure. Mind you, if he played straight he wouldn't have had a problem.

I mean even if the 3rd ump chucks away the projection, that just means he's out anyway, cause the ump said so. but still

CWB is gun tbh.....he thought that Bell in the first innings was a fluke and it turns out he is right

really what i'm saying is that's proof of how annoyingly rigid DRS can be. I would have rather the 3rd ump say "right. hawkeye is useless here. I'll stick to your call, but England keep that review"

Id rather him say wtf are you doing? He's 3 metres down the wicket? How can you be sure that's hitting? I know we're in the age of more lbws, I champion it, but that was ridiculous.

Gotta say... with Prior coming in already this tail seems awfuly long.

Yes I know Patel is a batting all-rounder and Broad and Swann etc etc... but it's just a perception that's all. A boost to the Lankans to think they're a lot closer to the tail than they otherwise would be at 4 wickets down.
