Pretty clear implication there unless they're suggesting they literally have a cuppa when fielding.

It wasn't a minor over rate offence last night. The innings finished about 50 minutes late ffs. I didn't see Australia's innings as I was out. Were there any extenuating circumstances for it taking so long to bowl 50 overs?
No real excuse for how far behind Dhoni was, but apparently it was ridiculously hot and his fast bowlers were cramping up, which messed around with his bowling changes.

Which makes Jadeja not bowling even more flabbergasting. Must have been experimentation from Dhoni with regards to whether he plays all 3 of Sachin, Gambhir and Viru.

Lol.

Sachin and Sehwag aren't that bad in the field when you compare it to ****ing Zaheer Khan. He is a disgrace.

Hobbles like he's 50 (which his body probably is).

Zaheer cost them at least 10 runs on his own yesterday.

Funny how Dhoni's been suspended on both occasions that they've gone in with 4 pace bowlers this summer.

It should also be said that Sachin was off the field for most of the match yesterday, and that is when India were at their worst in the field all series (were great until this match). Became really sloppy.

Good call.

Has no clue how to rotate them as he's not used to having to handle 4 seam bowlers.

Good to see Dhoni understands the importance of energy and youth in the field.

This caused large problems in the tests too. The longer India stay in the field, the more out of it mentally/physically they become.

Disagree that it was most of the match, reckon it was about 30-40 minutes max, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to open the batting right?

Re: Zaheer, good thing he knows how to bowl, seems like he doesn't give a **** about anything else on a cricket field.

No he was off for around 25-30 overs. He could open the batting because it was an external injury, not an internal injury.

All over twitter, including Peter Young.

And this

Watson returns to ODI squad

Will be interested to see what they do with the openers - we have three of them now.

Wade is now the incumbent full-time ODI keeper.

Suggests Ricky's ODI career's over; fantastic now someone ring Dizzy and tell him to get him at Yorkshire for the season.

Is Ricky's ODI career over, then? Should we start a valedictory thread?

I'd probably include him in the squad for the WI tour 'cause I'd rather have Forrest play in the shield final.

That's assuming Forrest ends up in the test squad

“Ricky Ponting has been dropped from the squad due to his lack of form in the five Commonwealth Bank Series matches to date in this series.

The team will not seem the same without him, but moving on from the omission of players who have been outstanding over a long period of time is the nature of elite sport.
Certainly sounds like time's been called on it.

Would be incredible if one of the all-time great ODI batsmen (and players in general) ends their career in the format like this.

Reeks of Michael Bevan tbh.
