I was under the impression that they had to have two "previously disadvantaged" players in the eleven, but Philander's injured and has been replaced by a white bloke so it's either pretty relaxed or not what I thought it was. I remember reading about how they'd decided officially that Tahir wouldn't count as previously disadvantaged not long ago; so it's still there. Maybe Amla counts?I'm definitely under the impression it still exists (not suggesting this is the only reason Prince is in the team ftr). So they haven't actually come out and said what the quota is? And would the quota be for the team or for the list of contracted players (if SA have a central contract system)?
Yeah, I would say it would be relaxed, but it's an interesting discussion point.I was under the impression that they had to have two "previously disadvantaged" players in the eleven, but Philander's injured and has been replaced by a white bloke so it's either pretty relaxed or not what I thought it was. I thought it was two non-white cricketers? Hence, Philander wasn't necessary for the cap considering Prince + Amla.I was under the impression that they had to have two "previously disadvantaged" players in the eleven, but Philander's injured and has been replaced by a white bloke so it's either pretty relaxed or not what I thought it was. My understanding is that atleast three players of colour must play. It has not been talked about cause the players deserved to play. The last true quota player was Tsolekile IMO.I'm definitely under the impression it still exists (not suggesting this is the only reason Prince is in the team ftr). They have to be considered of previously disadvantaged origin; which is why Tahir doesn't count. If Tahir doesn't count then Amla really shouldn't either.I thought it was two non-white cricketers? Hence, Philander wasn't necessary for the cap considering Prince + Amla.
And funnily enough he'd probably deserve to be selected if he was now.My understanding is that atleast three players of colour must play. It has not been talked about cause the players deserved to play. The last true quota player was Tsolekile IMO.
Were Indians allowed to play during Apartheid? They have to be considered of previously disadvantaged origin; which is why Tahir doesn't count. If Tahir doesn't count then Amla really shouldn't either.
seriously? That is ****ing lazyWele deserved that.
They batted first tbf.SL batsmen are going to be confused when they go to bat. They haven't batted while ahead in about 2 years,
