Bite me.

Because too many QLDers will want to after tonight.
How good is Dunk behind the stumps? I believe my case was more about the fact that Hartley was a better bat than many of the other QLD batsmen and Dunk should have played as a specialist. Then again, I might not have said that, I can't really remember. I'm just mightily impressed at QLD being 3-0 up in both comps so far.

Aren't New Zealand not involved in one?

EDIT: Yep there is one - Australia A v N Zealand at Brisbane, Nov 24-27, 2011 (10:00 local | 00:00 GMT | 11:00 EST | 10:30 CST | 08:00 WST)
Aren't India playing an Australia A game, or do they still not do warm ups?

Playing a game against a couple of invitation XIs, Big Bash is on at the time so I'd doubt that they'll be pulling out a proper A team.

yeah it was supposed to be A match, which was gonna create an awkward position for CA, but then literally the day after we announced our fixtures for this season* India asked for another warm-up, giving CA room to wriggle and now it's 'Cricket Australia Chairman's XI'

*may be hyperbole. could have been two days

Smith making runs that won't impress the critics.
It's only one innings so nothing to get too carried away over, but still it bodes well for his summer. From the commentary it looks like he's playing some sweet shots.

This is what he needs to do. Make a pile of runs. The leggies will only ever be a bonus I reckon. If he can average mid 40s for both batting and bowling he'll be a very handy cricketer.

Don't think people think he can't bat. Just that he was out of his depth at number 6 in the test team. I think people are way to hard on him.

On the contrary... plenty of people think he can't bat.

Then you raise the fact that the has a higher FC average than both Shaun Marsh and Callum Ferguson, even after a form slump...

Oh there were definitely people that thought that. A couple of comment from an article on cricinfo:

I think Smith has the potentential to be a bloody good leg spinner, he has the fundamentals he just needs the consistency and the guile. As for a batsman he should bat at 11 - he is bloody hopeless. The selectors should tell him to go back to shield cricket and become a specialist leg spinner.
Discarding Steve Smith was the RIGHT Decision. He has been given sufficient opportunities - but he can't bat, nor can he bowl!

Maxwell making the breakthroughs again at Bellerive. One of these two I reckon will step up to take Huss's spot at 6 in the test side and be very valuable.

Maxwell's bowling has come along nicely this season. His batting hasn't quite reached the levels of last year but that was always going to be hard to follow.

Will be a really good test for our bowlers. SOK could do with some wickets as other spinners are stepping up lately.

Dave Warner for Tests?

Initially I was dead against it - the idea of a T20 man coming through to represent Australia in the purest, most difficult form of the game...thought he'd never make it

But geez, he's starting to put the numbers on the board

I'm really warming to him

Yeah I know it's good for batting on. Seen it first hand. Going at 5.2 rpo though is not just a flat track. Rohrer and Smith have taken the game right away from SA through aggressive batting. SA will need a miracle to keep us under 500 by tea. I could be wrong, but I don't think they'll match that even on a good surface like Bankstown.
