Auction draft 2011

Michaelf7777777

International Debutant
Strange reserves team there, surely a better one can be picked. Australia and England have so many good players who could have been selected.
I thought it would be more fitting with the relatively random nature of both the teams in each round and the players up for bid that the rejects team be chosen in the random nature laid out in the post above. If people prefer just a best of the rest, rejects XI then I would chose the folllowing team ib batting order:

1. Athur Morris
2. Victor Trumper
3. Rahul Dravid (*)
4. David Gower
5. Stan McCabe
6. Ian Botham
7. Brendon McCullum (+)
8. Peter Pollock
9. Abdul Qadir
10. Ian Bishop
11. Fred Spofforth
Reserves: Inzamam-ul-Haq, Billy Murdoch, Bishen Bedi, Wes Hall

International Debutant
Very very happy to get Chris Cairns as it secures me a 3rd great fast bowler and makes sure that my batting line up is not only the strongest but the longest in the competition with Waite (who was good enough to be a regular number 3) at 8 and Constantine (who was good enough to bat at 6 for a Dominions team at the age of 43) at 9 in the batting order.

Pretty happy with this side in the end, Cowdrey the one to miss out.

Batting line-up does not live up to some of the other sides but still has quality throughout and has plenty of depth and attacking intent.

Really like the bowling with the two leg spinners and three genuinely fast bowlers all offering something different.

My bowling suddenly became awesome with Malinga dropping out in favour of Garner.

WG Grace (*)
Jackie McGlew

Not too shabby considering I was out of money for the last three rounds or so.

Yeah thats too strong. Put in a few more crap players like 4 or 6 suggested.

I like the opening combination and the bowling attack has some real stars in it. Excluding Border I think you middle order is a bit weak compared to some of the other teams. Would have been great if you had a better batsman than Campbell in there.

yeah the bowling attack is very strong but Alistair Campell a bit of a weak link in the batting line up

Very strong team up till number 4. It goes really downhill from there.

Yea aside from Border middle order is too weak.

Blakus

State Vice-Captain
Chanderpaul an unlikely steal in the final round:D. My final team looks like:

1.Jack Hobbs
2.Sunil Gavaskar
3.Everton Weekes
4.Kenny Barrington
5.Shivnarine Chanderpaul
6.Ted Dexter
7.Denis Lindsay
8.Michael Holding
9.Dennis Lillee
10.Shoaib Akhtar
11.Subhash Gupte

Reserves: Dempster, de Silva, Mbangwa, Mahmudullah

One of the best sides I've managed to make in a draft. The major selling points are the strength of my top 4 batsmen and the speed and hostility of my pace attack.
