It's the fact they haven't maybe apart from the one game, put a complete game together where all 3 disciplines have worked, either we've lost the openers early and struggled with partnerships or some of the bowling has been poor add to that the fielding has been a shambles, which is the hardest one to get your head around.

Honestly, all these signs point to a touring party which basically couldn't give a **** and would rather be anywhere else but in India.

You mean India will probably think the England tour was a one off now after this series.

Im certainly not against Bairstow being selected by any means but when you compare the List A records of the two it is hard to argue his case over Buttler. Can only conclude that he was chosen because of his superior first class record which is a mistake we make rather a lot.

It happens on these sorts of tours. England isn't the first team nor the best team to face it in the last decade or two.

If I remember rightly he had a poorish star and was averaging in the 20's but had a decent end to the season where he finished with 38.

Buttler averaged like 137 last year, it's his best format, much better player in list A than T20, I can't understand why they haven't got him in there and to see what he can do, instead of just the T20 stuff.

Oh sorry, I wasn't aware that one decent season in which he averaged in the mid 30s erases 20 odd games of absolute ****. He's getting there but he's still a long way away, and overall his performances for Yorkshire in one day cricket have been poor.

If someone had put in the performances for England in ODIs Bairstow that has for Yorkshire so far they'd have a Bopara-like hate group and people would be calling for them to never play again. And yet after doing this domestically he's apparently the golden-haired replacement for such players. Imagine Ian Bell has a decent ODI summer next season and then someone says he should be in the ODI World XI - that's what this is like.

He may well turn out to be a good one day player; I actually wouldn't be game to bet against it, but he's certainly not ready for this yet.

Always going to be the case. Presumably we'll see a raging turner in the first test followed by roads for the rest of the series?

Yep, the players and public in England don't really care about one day cricket as much as the rest of the world do. What a surprise that a pointless money making tour isn't treated properly by them.
